Classic Namibia - Small Group Tour

Highlights * Sossusvlei Dunes * Sea Kayaking * Desert-adapted Elephants * Etosha National Park * AfriCat Foundation

Tour departs: Tuesdays & Saturdays

Group size: 1-7

DAYS 1-2

Meet with your highly experienced guide in Windhoek and begin your journey, travelling through the scenic Khomas Hochland highlands down to the Namib Desert. Stay for 2 nights at Dead Valley Lodge and explore the desert. It’s worth the early start to see the spectacular, towering, apricot-coloured dunes and parched white clay pans. You’ll also visit Sesriem Canyon.

DAYS 3-4

The drive continues through the desert, via the Gaub and Kuiseb canyons towards the coast at Walvis Bay. Stay in The Delight, a centrally-located hotel in Swakopmund for 2 nights and explore this quaint coastal resort with its German influences. There are opportunities to spot seals and dolphins on a guided sea kayaking trip from Walvis Bay. Additional activities such as boat cruises, scenic flights and sand boarding can be arranged at extra cost.

DAYS 5-6

Drive north to Damaraland, where the scenery is dramatically different – rock formations, mountains and scenically beautiful wilderness. In this area you’ll see the pre-historic rock engravings at Twyfelfontein, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and head off on an exciting 4x4 adventure in search of desert-adapted elephants. Stay for 2 nights at Camp Kipwe.

DAYS 7-9

The tour continues north to Etosha, for a 3 night stay at Ongava Tented Camp. The camp is located in a private reserve just outside Etosha National Park and is an ideal base for game viewing both in the private reserve and in the park itself.

DAY 10

Return to Windhoek, with a visit and game drive at the AfriCat Day Centre before arriving in Windhoek late afternoon. If you want to spend longer at the AfriCat Foundation, you can extend your stay for a couple of nights. We also recommend a night or 2 in Windhoek at the start and end of the tour.
