Namibia by Land & Air - Tailor Made Fly Drive

Highlights * AfriCat Foundation * Etosha National Park * Damaraland * Scenic Flight * Sossusvlei Dunes

DAY 1

Arrive in Windhoek and collect your vehicle – we recommend a 4x4. Stay overnight in the city.

DAYS 2-3

Drive to the Okonjima Nature Reserve. Spend 2 nights here and visit the AfriCat Foundation, a leading centre for research and conservation of Namibia’s large carnivores. Drive time approx. 2-3 hours.

DAYS 4-5

Head north to Onguma Game Reserve, just outside Etosha National Park for 2 nights. Drive into the park and see the wildlife. Drive time approx. 4 hours.

DAYS 6-7

Drive through Etosha to the Ongava Reserve for an overnight stay. Drive time approx. 31/2 hours.

DAYS 8-9

Drive into Damaraland, where the scenery is breath-takingly beautiful. Stay in one of the excellent lodges and explore the region. Speak to your lodge if you would like to go in search of the desert-adapted elephants. Drive time approx. 31/2 hours.

DAYS 10-11

Drive to the coast for 2 nights at Swakopmund. It’s a lively resort with a host of activities, including dolphin cruises, sea kayaking and sand boarding. Drive time approx. 31/2 hours.

DAYS 12-13

A tour highlight - board the plane for the flight down to the Namib Desert – see the spectacular dunes from the air, an utterly amazing sight. Your lodge will be able to arrange a visit to the dunes at sunrise, the best time of day to visit and see the colours changing as the day warms up.

DAY 14

Fly back to Windhoek. Spend some time in capital city before catching your flight home or continuing onwards with your African journey.
