Overview

Affectionately known as the Nellie, the historic 5-star Mount Nelson Hotel is surrounded by beautifully maintained, expansive gardens in the centre of Cape Town. An iconic luxury retreat, previous guests to the hotel include Winston Churchill, John Lennon and Nelson Mandela.

The hotel has a choice of 198 rooms and suites, from the cosy Superior Rooms to the open-plan Deluxe Garden Cottage suites with private terrace, private entrance hall and dining area/kitchenette. All rooms and suites include Wi-Fi, air-conditioning and satellite TV.

Facilities
 

In the Mount Nelson's extensive grounds, you will find two pools, tennis courts, a spa with a steam bath, plunge pool and Finnish sauna, and a gym. Dining options range from a buffet breakfast or relaxed lunch in the ‘Oasis’, traditional afternoon tea and fine dining on local, seasonal produce in The Verandah, and Pan-Asian in The Red Room. Pre-dinner champagne and drinks are served in the Planet Bar. 

A Concierge service is on hand to assist with advice and arrangements and a children's club keeps younger guests entertained. Secure parking facilities can be arranged by the hotel for those with a hire car.
