Classic Oman - Tailor Made

This leisurely tour takes in the attractions of the eclectic capital of Muscat and the untouched coastline, mountains, deserts and wadis that abound throughout the country. Visit striking cultural landmarks and picturesque sites and spend a night in a typical desert camp with a traditional Arabian meal.

Day 1

Arrive Oman and transfer to your hotel in Muscat.

Day 2

Visit the Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque before heading out of Muscat with your driver/guide and into the mountains. Stop at the World Heritage Site at Bahla Fort and Jabreen Castle en route to Jabal Shams. At just over three thousand metres, Jabal Shams is Oman’s highest peak – spend the night here and take a walk in the Grand Canyon.

Day 3

Continue on to Nizwa where you can climb the twisting staircase to the top of the tower at Nizwa Fort – the views are magnificent.

Day 4

Take a look at the old mud houses in Ibra en route to the Wahiba Desert. Known as the sea of sand, you’ll experience the thrill of dune driving and spend a night in a desert camp.

Days 5-6

The clear pools of water at Wadi Bani Khalid offer a chance to cool off before a walk through Wadi Shab, the ‘gorge between cliffs’. Finish off with a couple of nights in Muscat, where you’ll have a city tour and time to explore.

There are direct flights from Muscat to Zanzibar, so why not fly to the Spice Island, which was once part of the Omani empire, and enjoy some beach relaxation.
