South Luangwa National Park
In the east of the country, lying between the Luangwa River and the Mchinga Escarpment, is the famous South Luangwa National Park which is renowned for the diversity of its wildlife.
Elephant and buffalo are found in huge herds and large prides of lion are easily spotted. South Luangwa also has a reputation as a first-class park for leopard with a population density twice that of South Africa's Kruger.
The area is noted for its walking trails led by armed professional rangers and trackers.
Access is by daily air service from Lusaka to Mfuwe
