Small Group Tour

Highlights * Ngorongoro Crater * Serengeti * Lake Manyara * Tarangire

Tour departs: Thursdays & Saturdays

Group size: 2-6

DAY 1

Arrive in Arusha for an overnight stay.

DAYS 2-3

A morning to relax before you meet with your guide and the tour begins. Drive to Ngorongoro for a 2 night stay in the coffee growing area of Karatu. Spend an unforgettable day in the famous Ngorongoro Crater – take in the views from the crater’s rim before descending 2,000 feet into the crater for a day of game viewing and a picnic lunch. The scenery ranges from forests and swamps to lakes and open grassland and there is a great variety of game.

DAYS 4-5

Another highlight awaits – Serengeti National Park. You’ll arrive in time for lunch and stay for 2 nights in the park. Depending on the time of year, you may see the Great Migration, however the game experience in the Serengeti is impressive year round.

DAY 6

The tour continues to Lake Manyara for an overnight stay. This park may be one of Tanzania’s smaller parks but there is plenty to see. The alkaline lake attracts flamingos during the rainy season and you might spot the famous tree-climbing lions.

DAY 7

Drive to Tarangire National Park for an afternoon of game viewing. Tarangire is pretty, with plenty of baobab trees and a river that attracts elephants in huge numbers, especially during the dry season.

DAYS 8-12

Head back to Arusha where the tour ends. A few days on a relaxing beach is a great way to follow a safari so we recommend you fly on to Zanzibar and enjoy the Spice Island for a few days. There is plenty to do on the island, including watersports, cultural tours to Stone Town, the spice market and Jozani Forest where you might spot the red colobus monkeys. Choose a hotel or resort to suit – we have included some suggestions on pages 100-103 of the African Pride 2020-21 brochure.

You can also do this tour on a private basis, travelling with your own guide and vehicle, and we can tailor the itinerary to suit your personal requirements.
