Tips for planning a KAZA-Zambezi holiday

With such a vast area and a wealth of unique experiences, it is impossible to take it all in on just one trip. The expert team at African Pride can craft itineraries to your personal wishes, creating unforgettable journeys. Our consultant Sam recently had the privilege of exploring part of this wilderness, from the remote Zambezi Region (formerly the Caprivi Strip) in Namibia to the western Okavango Delta, Chobe, Hwange National Park and Victoria Falls. Here are some of her highlights:

  • Namushasha River Lodge in the Zambezi region offers luxurious rooms with river views, close wildlife encounters with hippo and crocs and activities like game drives and birdwatching - ideal for nature lovers and families.
  • Divava Okavango Resort & Spa provides a serene stay with river views and the sound of Popa Falls in the background. With access to game drives in nearby Buffalo and Bwabwata National Parks, this is a perfect spot for relaxation and adventure.
  • Nxamaseri Island Lodge offers a peaceful island retreat with activities like Mokoro rides and fishing, set in a stunning landscape and with exceptional service.
  • Tsodilo Hills offers a cultural adventure with rock art, scenic walks and a memorable sleepout experience with the Bushmen people.
  • The Meerkat experience provides an intimate encounter with meerkats (and sometimes their babies!) in a respectful, natural setting, while the Makgadikgadi Salt Pans offer a profound sense of isolation and beauty.
  • Hwange National Park offers breathtaking views, tranquil landscapes and star gazing, with the added spectacle of large elephant and buffalo herds in the dry season.
  • Victoria Falls is a bucket-list destination, with colonial charm, art galleries and activities galore. The unforgettable “Flight of Angels” helicopter ride over the Falls has to be experienced to be believed.
