Livingstone & Victoria Falls
Viewed from any angle the Victoria Falls is an amazing sight. The Zambezi River drops into a chasm which is a mile wide and plunges to a depth of 300 feet.
Its traditional name is 'Mosi oa Tunya' - the smoke that thunders - very apt as the rising spray from this great natural wonder can be seen from up to 15 miles away.
Livingstone, 3 miles from the Falls, has become a major tourist resort with an international airport served daily from Johannesburg and Lusaka. Several resort hotels are close to the Falls while upstream a number of small quality lodges offer a high standard of comfort with a range of activities included.
There are many adventure activities available including white water rafting, canoe trips, sundowner cruises, elephant back safaris and trips over the Falls by microlight, helicopter or light aircraft.
Safaris into neighbouring Botswana are a popular combination.
