Classic Zimbabwe - Tailor Made

Zimbabwe has so much to offer the visitor and in this leisurely tour we have linked two of the country’s major attractions - Victoria Falls and Hwange National Park.

Highlights * Matobo Hills * San Rock Art * Safari in Hwange Park * Victoria Falls

DAYS 1-3

Arrive in Bulawayo and transfer to the Matobo Hills. Spend 3 nights at Amalinda Lodge exploring this fascinating area. The lodge itself is set among the granite hills and boulders of the UNESCO World Heritage Site, so there’s a real sense of place. Activities in the area range from rhino tracking to guided walks around the lodge and in the hills you’ll see ancient rock art from the San bushmen. You can also visit the tomb of Cecil John Rhodes, it’s easy to see why the spot is known as the ‘View of the World’.

DAYS 4-6

Transfer by road to Hwange National Park for 3 nights on safari. Your base is Khulu Bush camp, an intimate lodge in a private concession, well placed for exploring the park. Head out on game drives and guided walks, or simply sit at a water pan and observe the wildlife as it comes to drink. A cultural visit to Dete village is also available.

DAYS 7-9

Transfer by road to Victoria Falls for a 3 night stay at Ilala Lodge. Whether you prefer to stay in a hotel or exclusive guesthouse in the town and be close to the Falls, or in a beautiful lodge right on the banks of the river, there are plenty of options. We know the area well and are happy to share our thoughts. There’s so much to do and see here – a tour of the Falls, on foot or by air, is a highlight. There are adrenalin-fuelled activities such as white water rafting and gorge swings too – some are seasonal so please call to discuss your requirements. We highly recommend that you take a gentle sundowner cruise – or maybe even dinner – on the Zambezi River before you leave.

DAY 10

Return home, or continue on your African adventure. Chobe National Park – in Botswana – is within easy reach, you could head to South Africa or take a direct flight to Nairobi and continue your safari in Kenya.

This is a sample itinerary which can be personalised for your requirements. We will happily make recommendations, based on your preferences and our personal experiences.
