Amboseli National Park
To the south of the country, towards the border with Tanzania, is Amboseli National Park.
The landscape is dominated by Mount Kilimanjaro, over the border, and the image of elephant and giraffe crossing vast open plains against a backdrop of the snows of Kilimanjaro is one familiar to us all.
The area is particularly excellent for viewing large herds of elephant, but also has healthy population of buffalo, impala, lion, cheetah, hyena, giraffe, zebra and wildebeest.
