Garden Route Uncovered - Small Group Tour
A 4-day escorted tour along the coast linking Cape Town and Port Elizabeth which focuses on the main highlights of the Garden Route including the Cango Caves, Knysna, Plettenberg Bay and Tsitsikamma Forest. The tour is escorted by a driver/guide and there is a maximum of 16 per vehicle.
Tour Highlights * Cango Caves * Knysna * Keurbooms River Cruise * Tsitsikamma National Park * Plettenberg Bay
Tour departs: Thursdays
Group size: 2-16
DAY 1
Head off early morning from Cape Town, travelling along Route 62 to Barrydale, then onto Oudtshoorn. Known as the ‘ostrich capital’ of South Africa, you’ll visit a working ostrich farm before checking into your hotel for an overnight stay.
DAY 2
Start with a tour of the Cango Caves, a great natural wonder then head to the coast and the Garden Route. Stop for a while at Knysna’s waterfront before continuing to The Crags near Plettenberg Bay for a 2 night stay. Enjoy a cruise on the Keurbooms River.
DAY 3
Today’s activities include a visit to the Birds of Eden, the largest free-flight bird aviary in the world, a horse-drawn carriage ride and wine tasting on the Plettenberg Bay wine route.
DAY 4
Travel via Tsitsikamma National park, where you can walk across the suspension bridge at the mouth of Storms River. The tour finishes at Port Elizabeth.
Why not extend this short tour with a stay in Cape Town or a safari in the Eastern Cape? The tour also operates in reverse, starting from Port Elizabeth on Mondays.
