MALAWI
By using Nairobi, Lusaka or Johannesburg as a gateway there is easy access to Lilongwe and Blantyre. Malawi is known as the ‘Warm Heart of Africa’ due to the friendliness of its people. The country’s main attraction is Lake Malawi with its clear warm waters stretching for 365 miles. Around its shores are a number of excellent resort lodges - such as Chinteche Inn and Club Makakola - or for a real paradise getaway Likoma Island can be reached by light aircraft. Liwonde National Park offers good game viewing and a safari based at Mvuu Wilderness Lodge can be linked with a lake resort and South Luangwa in Zambia. Other attractions include the towering Zomba plateau, the Mulange Massif and Nyika Plateau noted for its wild flowers, especially orchids.

UGANDA & RWANDA
By using Nairobi as a gateway there is easy access to the western region of Uganda and neighbouring Rwanda. This is home to the Mountain Gorillas and safaris of 3 or 4 days can be arranged. This allows 2 treks into the surrounding forests in search of these wonderful endangered primates. A reasonable level of fitness is required as treks can take you to an altitude of 2,500m and can be anything from 30 minutes to a few hours. After spending a maximum of one hour with the gorillas you return to your base camp. Permits are always at a premium and currently cost US$500 per trek and must be applied for as far in advance as possible.

MALDIVES
By using Dubai as a gateway there are six  flights a week to the Maldives (flying time four hours) with connections to various African destinations.  Grouped into 26 beautiful coral atolls, separated by deep lagoons, the islands are some of the finest ‘getaway’ places in the world. Lodges are generally fairly large with a 100 + units varying from hotel style rooms to thatched chalets on stilts over the water. All offer high standards of accommodation and facilities. Watersports are very well catered for and most offer a wide range of non-motorised activities whilst some have dive centres so that you can view the underwater world of colourful reefs and marine life. Transfers from Male International Airport are by speedboat or seaplane.
