The
biggest conservation success story for Hluhluwe is the
white Rhino. In the early 1900’s the entire world
population was around 20, all of them living in this
area. Today, the population in South Africa is about
6,000 and the challenge now is to increase the numbers
of the black rhino which have dwindled from 14,000 to
about 1,500.
