South Africa is a country of breathtaking diversity – the traveller is able to see a tremendous variety of animals and birdlife in numerous game reserves. It is possible to travel down the Indian Ocean coastline for over 1000 miles from northern KwaZulu Natal to the Cape and then a further 800+ miles up the western coast line to the border with Namibia. Inland there are the dramatic Drakensberg Mountains that rise to over 11000ft where visitors can view the historic battlefields and hear the stories of the battles that took place in the late 1800’s between the Zulus, British & Boers. South Africa is blessed with many delightful towns and cities to explore, or drive through the open countryside where the skies and fields appear limitless. Don’t forget to sample the fine locally produced food and wine, but most of all, to meet its people.

The
country has an excellent transport infrastructure with South African
Airways and other local carriers operating an extensive domestic and
regional network of air routes linking all major centres. There are
a number of long-distance rail services. The road system covers the
entire country and highway conditions between the main centres and
around tourist centres are very well maintained.
