Madagascar

From the tranquillity of the deep rain forests to the bustle of the cities, from pristine white sandy beaches to an underwater world of reef fish and dazzling corals, Madagascar offers the adventurous traveller a wealth of fascinating and beautiful places to visit and explore.

As the island is so large, the 4th largest in the world, there are many places of interest and with our first hand knowledge we can create an itinerary especially for you. This could include the elegant city of Antisirabebe, walking in Isalo Park or visiting the remote region of Tsingy. The tropical islands of Nosy Be and Nosy Ankerea off the west coast or Ile St. Marie off the east coast, can be combined with touring arrangements so that you can have a sightseeing holiday followed by a few days of relaxation.

For that special holiday, providing the very highest standards of comfort, hospitality and service, the island resorts of Tsarabanjina and Nosy Iranja off the north-west coast and the hidden mainland resort of Anjajavy are the perfect hideaways.

Access Madagascar is by the scheduled overnight services of Air Madagascar from Paris or daylight services from Johannesburg with Air Madagascar and South African Express.  Although there are various climatic zones the best time to visit the island is between May and November. August can be exceptionally busy with French visitors.

Please note that mainland accommodation outside of Antananarivo (referred to as Tana) is generally simple but comfortable; that itineraries are subject to alteration at short notice due to rescheduling of air services; that supplements are applicable if an English speaking guide is required and due to ever changing air fares and hotel tariffs within Madagascar, tours costs are subject to alteration.

Madagascar is very much a special exotic destination. No where else will you experience the many stunning animal and bird sightings, the mixture of cultures, or be overwhelmed by the extraordinary ever changing scenery. On the following pages will be found a selection of itineraries which cover some of the islands top attractions. They can be combined to create a longer holiday or amended to meet your preferred requirements
