South Africa for the first time visitor.
This itinerary has been specially devised for those holidaying in
South Africa for the first time and wishing to visit some of the
country’s finest sights in a leisurely manner. The itinerary is
flexible and we can easily adjust the tour to meet your
requirements.
Day 1
Evening flight from Heathrow Airport.
Day 2
On arrival in Cape Town transfer to Table Mountain Lodge in the city
for a stay of 3 nights. (BB)
Days 3 & 4
At leisure for local sightseeing.
Day 5
Europcar to deliver to the hotel your Group ‘B’ self drive car –
Toyota Corolla (or similar). Drive through the winelands to
Mossel Bay and then inland to Eight Bells Mountain Inn (about 5 hrs)
for 2 nights. (BB)
Day 6
Cross the Robinson Pass to visit an ostrich farm in Oudtshoorn and
the Cango Caves or enjoy the various outdoor activities available at
the Inn.
Day 7
Drive to George and then along the ‘Garden Route’, passing
Wilderness and Knysna, to Plettenberg Bay (about 2.5 hrs). Stay at
Bosavern Guest House for 2 nights, (BB)
Day 8
Day for exploring the surrounding ‘Garden Route’. Perhaps, drive
through Nature’s Valley to Storms River Gorge or take a walking
trail through the Tsitsikamma Forest.
Day 9
Along the coast to the resort and city of Port Elizabeth (about 2.5
hrs). Overnight at the Beach Hotel. (BB)
Day 10
Return the car to the airport and depart on the early morning flight
to Johannesburg. Connect with the flight to Nelspruit. On arrival
collect from Europcar another self drive car. Drive to Rissington
Inn at Hazyview (about 1 hr) for 3 nights. (BB)
Day 11
Day for touring the ‘Panorama Route’ – Blyde River Canyon, Bourke’s
Luck Potholes, Pilgrims Rest and other places of scenic beauty.
Day 12
Day at leisure for relaxation or game viewing in the nearby Kruger
National Park.
Day 13
Drive to Hoedspruit (about 1.5 hrs) and return the car. Transfer to
Gomo Gomo Private Game Reserve for a 3-day/2-night safari. Afternoon
game viewing drive. (FP)
Day 14
Day spent game viewing.
Day 15
Early morning game viewing. Early afternoon flight to Johannesburg.
Evening flight to London.
Day 16
Arrive Heathrow Airport early morning.
