BURJAL ARAB
This unique tower hotel lies just offshore and is linked to the mainland by a narrow causeway. It stands 321 metres high and has 202 luxurious duplex suites, all furnished to the very highest standards. All have their own separate entrance, spacious sitting area with a multimedia entertainments system and a lavish bathroom with whirlpool. There is a choice of restaurants and bars including one suspended 200 metres above the ocean and an underwater themed restaurant accessed by a simulated ‘submarine’. Accommodation comprises of Mina A’Salam– a grand boutique hotel built in a beautiful Arabian style with 292 spacious bedrooms with balcony and sea view; Al Qasralso has 292 rooms and the hotel is approached by along tree-lined avenue. EMIRATES AL MAHA DESERT RESORT
The hotel complex is set in a 225-square km conservation reserve some 45 minutes drive from the city and has the Hajar Mountains as a spectacular backdrop. Accommodation is in 37 luxurious Bedouin suites, each surrounded by wooden decking and with air-conditioning, TV and a private pool with views over the desert. The suites are beautifully appointed and have hand crafted furnishings, antiques and artefacts. Included in the tariff is a choice of two exciting activities each day and these can be selected from desert safaris, falconry, archery, camel riding and horse trekking.
