Cape Town & Winelands

Cape Town is a gem
of a city – so many visitors return time and time again to relish
its beauty. Table Mountain dominates the sky line and the cable car
will whisk you to the top for stunning views. The Victoria & Alfred
Waterfront complex has become one of South Africa’s top attractions
with its wide range of shops, restaurants and entertainments. From
here you can take the boat to Robben Island to see the prison where
Nelson Mandela spent 27 years. On the slopes of Table Mountain are
the world renowned Kirstenbosch National Botanical Gardens. These
beautifully maintained gardens contain some 9000 of South Africa’s
18000 plant species. For relaxation, there are excellent beaches
(the water is warmer in False Bay than on the Atlantic Ocean
coastline), a wide choice of challenging golf courses, walking
trails and, for the gourmet, restaurants serving fine Cape cuisine
complemented by local estate bottled wines.
A
good selection of sightseeing tours operate throughout the year.
Most popular are the full day 90 mile scenic tour of the Cape
Peninsula visiting the Cape
of Good Hope, Cape Point & the penguin
colony at Boulders Beach and the full day tour of the Cape winelands
with visits to the historic towns of Paarl, Stellenbosch and
Franschhoek plus the opportunity of sampling some of the fine wines
and brandies.
Within the greater Cape Town area are numerous quality hotels and
pages could be filled with their details. However, we have selected
a few which we know to offer high standards of comfort, service and
hospitality.
