In the remote eastern corner of Botswana, at the confluence of the Limpopo and Shashe rivers, lies the Tuli enclave, a diverse wilderness of savannah, riverine forests, marshland, open plains and sandstone outcrops. :: LIMPOPO VALLEY HORSE SAFARIS
Situated in Mashatu, the safaris operate from Fort Jameson in the remote northern part of the reserve. Tented accommodation with en suite facilities is provided at the base camp with basic camping facilities whilst out on safari. The horses range in size from 14 hh to 16.2 hh and the safaris are of 3 to 10 days duration or can be tailor-made to suit individual requirements. Further information and cost on request

MASHATU GAME RESERVE

Access is by road from Johannesburg or Pretoria to Pont Drift (about 5 hours). Here you leave your car in a secure compound and are transferred across the Limpopo River to the lodge or camp.  Alternatively there is a daily scheduled flight from Johannesburg to Polokwane and then by light aircraft or road transfer to the reserve. On certain days of the week there is a road transfer directly from/to Johannesburg.  Mashatu is noted for its fine game viewing, especially elephant which now number in excess of 700. It is also home to prides of lion and cheetah together with various other game and over 350 bird species

Main Camp can accommodate up to 30 guests in chalet bedrooms with 'his' and 'her' bathrooms. There is a lounge, open dining area, a delightful boma overlooking the floodlit waterhole and a magnificent viewing deck directly off the bar. For relaxation there is a swimming pool.


Tented Camp has 7 walk-in style tents with en suite shower facilities. The main open sided lodge houses the bar, dining area and lounge. Close by is a plunge pool, boma and a hide overlooking the floodlit waterhole.
 


An unusual form of game viewing available at variety of fauna and flora. For safety reasons, a vehicle remains in close proximity to the cyclists but out of earshot. The cycling is comparatively flexible and can be adjusted to the preferences and fitness of the cyclists.
